Itinerary

Day 1.  Arrival Day 

You will be welcomed by our wonderful local team on your arrival at the Kilimanjaro International Airport in Tanzania.

You will be transferred to Arusha town, approximately a 1hr drive, to check in to your hotel – the lovely Lake Duluti Lodge.

Take your time to rest from the long flight and enjoy a wonderful dinner later.

Day 2. Arusha City

 Arusha is warm this time of the year with cool breezes in the evening. This vibrant city has lots of activities going on and there will be much to discover and learn about its history and contemporary developments.

Today your local guide will show you around the city to visit different places of interest which gives you a great opportunity to feel energy of the city and interact with WaTanzania. From the local market, to a local church and school and the Arusha Declaration Museum. You will immerse yourself in the life of the city and it’s wonderful people. A little outside of the bustle of the city, you will visit coffee and floriculture plantations.

Of course, you will enjoy a delicious Tanzanian lunch and a drink at a local pub.

After a full day, you will return to the hotel and dinner will be served at the hotel.

Day 3. Tarangire National Park

Today you’ll have the very first safari experience at the Tarangire national park. I hope you’re excited.

This is also your last night at Duluti lodge so you’ll check out before heading for safari.

Your safari guide will pick you up early at 8:00 am. You’ll start with a safety briefing before you get into the safari car and journey about 2.5 hours to the park. Tarangire is famous for large elephant herds and this time of the year, they are easier to spot. It’s going to be a great day spotting elephants, giraffes, buffalos, zebras, rhinos and the king of the jungle!

After an amazing day of safari you’ll drive to your hotel – the Maramboi tended lodge. You’ll be checked in and served dinner later.

Day 4. Mto wa Mbu Village walk

You wake up to another special day in Tanzania. Today you will spend your day in Mto wa Mbu village. This is one of the highlights of this trip because you will have so many opportunities to interact with locals, visit a local small-holder rice farm to learn about the planting and harvesting processes, a banana farm, and an arts centre.

You will check in to your hotel at the Acacia farm lodge

Day 5. Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area

Today you will experience a unique safari adventure in the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater. A UNESCO world heritage.

You will depart to Ngorongoro highlands at 08:00am, it takes approximately 45 mins. You will have a full day game viewing  in this dramatic caldera, on your way you meet the maasai children taking their cattle for grassing. The co-existence of Indigenous Maasai people and wild-life in the Ngorongoro conversation area is what makes it unique.

You will over-night at at Acacia Farm Lodge where you will be served dinner.

Day 6. A day with the Hadzabe and Datoga tribes in lake Eyasi

Today you will get off the beaten path! There are only a few tribes remaining in Africa of hunters and gatherers. The Hadzabe and Datoga are one of the few. They have graciously welcomed visitors into their communities to learn about their culture. Our local guides will provide orientation before your enter the communities on how to respectfully relate with the communities. They will share knowledge and you may engage in some of their activities including cooking.

You will enjoy a picnic lunch around Lake Eyasi before heading back to your room at the Acacia farm lodge.

Day 7. Serengeti National Park

Finally! Today you head to the most famous national park in Africa – The Amazing Serengeti national park. This is home of the wildebeest migration and this is the season for it so prepare to be amazed!

You will check out of your hotel before you hit the road. It’s a 4-hour drive but fear not. You will have stop-overs and a special adventure on the way. The maasai tribe is one of the traditional tribes living near the Serengeti and have over time opened their communities to visitors to share about their ways of being. You will visit one maasai village en-route to the Serengeti.

When you arrive at the Serengeti you will have a short afternoon game drive before you head to your tented loge at Kubukubu tented lodge. You will enjoy the breath-taking views of the Sahara from the lodge.

Day 8. Serengeti National Park

You will have a full Safari experience in the Serengeti. This includes an early morning, afternoon and night game drives in the massive plain.

Day 9. Serengeti

Today is your last day in the Serengeti. The guide will be available to take you for all game drives- morning, afternoon and night. You can decide if you’d like to take all or just a few. You can rest and enjoy views of the Sahara and sun set from the lodge. They have amazing spa experiences that you would be welcome to.

Day 10. Serengeti –  Arusha

As all good things, this is your last day. You will check out of your lodge in the morning before you depart on a small aircraft back to Arusha for your on-ward flight. The flight is scheduled to leave Serengeti approximately at 0930am or 1045am, arriving 1245pm or 0115pm in Arusha.

You will have a day room available for use in case you need it.
